Resolution on the violation of women’s rights, civilian rights and human rights through terrorist action in Swat

A resolution was passed by the House on 20th January 2009 the urgent concern the grave violation of women’s rights, civilian rights and human rights through terrorist action in Swat during the past two years. Swat in an integral part of Pakistan and the citizens of the area are entitled to the same constitutional rights as other section of the Pakistan.

The House calls for a comprehensive response to the problem of militancy and terrorism in Swat and the tribal region. The response shall incorporate effort for peace and restoration of fundamental rights of the citizens followed by the development and implementation of a social and economic plan to rebuild the infrastructure in the region and facilitate opportunities for future employment and growth.
