International Commitments for Persons with Disabilities

UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, 2009

UNCRPD ( United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities ) is the Convention on Human Rights in relation to persons with disabilities .Government of Pakistan has ratified the Convention on 5th July, 2011 to support and protect at all levels that aim to ensure the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms of persons with disabilities.

Incheon Strategy to “Make the Right Real”, 2013-2022, by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)

Incheon strategy to ” make the right real ” for persons with disabilities in Asia and the Pacific, the Asia- Pacific region and in the world, with the first set of regional development objectives agreed to include disability inclusive goals. The Goals of Incheon strategy cover a wide range of development areas of poverty alleviation and employment to political participation, accessibility, social security, education, gender equality, disaster risk reduction, data collection, ratification of the CRPD and international cooperation.
