Islamabad: General Assembly session of Women’s Parliamentary Secretariat, Parliament House under the chairmanship of Honorable Speaker National Assembly Mr. Asad Qaiser held on 26th January, 2021 at Committee Room No. 5 Parliament House, Islamabad.
The Strategic Plan of WPC 2019 – 2023 was approved. During the briefing the Hon. Secretary WPC Ms. Munaza Hassan briefed about the performance of WPC in 2.5 years and its on-going projects. She also shared the future goals of WPC. Hon. Secretary shared with General Assembly about the upcoming Post Legislative Scrutiny (PLS) fellowship program for women parliamentarians. This fellowship will be offered to 120 parliamentarians from National, Provincial and Legislative Assemblies respectively. She shared that it will be an exchange program for sharing the experiences between federal and provincial on women issues. Moreover, under this fellowship program, technical support on legislation, communication, and research will also provide to women parliamentarians. This fellowship program will help Women Parliamentarians to enhance their skills on PLS tools for securitizing the laws in an effective manner. Honorable Speaker National Assembly praised the efforts of women parliamentarians and offered complete support in future endeavors of the Women Parliamentary Caucus.
